Pinocchio

Synopsis

A young boy becomes a victim of media corruption when a false testimony ruins his father’s reputation, leading to his mother’s tragic death. Adopted by an elderly man suffering from Alzheimer’s, who mistakenly believes the boy is his long-lost son, the boy pretends to have amnesia and assumes the identity of "Choi Dal-Po.” Meanwhile, Choi In-Ha, a girl with a rare condition known as "Pinocchio syndrome"—where she hiccups whenever she lies—moves to the island to live with her grandfather and meets Dal-Po, who is posing as her uncle. Though they initially clash, the two eventually become best friends. Years later, Dal-Po and In-Ha both enter the world of journalism, determined to expose the truth. In-Ha, unable to lie due to her condition, becomes a broadcast reporter, while Dal-Po hides his true identity behind a shabby appearance but reveals his sharp memory and eloquence when necessary. Along with their rookie colleagues Seo Bum-Jo, a privileged heir, and Yoon Yoo-Rae, a fangirl-turned-reporter, they begin uncovering the deep-seated corruption and lies within media As they dig into their families' pasts, Dal-Po and In-Ha confront painful histories and the hidden truths behind the people they once trusted.
